Another weekend is history.......................
My husband packed a small suitcase on Friday and headed out the TCH in route to ?!?!?!?!?
We stopped in Gambo overnight and early Saturday we left, driving West on the TCH, again with no destination, and stopped in Grand Falls-Windsor for lunch. The weather was perfect! After lunch we headed north on the Road to the Isles and ended up in Twillingate. We checked into a hotel and spent the day touring Twillingate - it was lovely. In the evening we attended a 'dinner theater' in Crow's Head! It was very funny! The meal was soup (stoup as Charlie refers to it), choice of 'pan-fried cod', 'stuffed, baked cod', 'salmon' or 'stuffed chicken breast' and dessert was 'rhubarb tart' - we chose the pan fried cod and it was delicious!
Sunday we attended the Salvation Army in Twillingate and then we went to Stoneville to visit family and my mother's grave before heading back to Gander for a late lunch then home. Michelle and Steve met up with us in Stoneville and travelled behind us for the rest of the journey.
After our arrival home we had ice cream from Dairy Queen to finish our holiday. It was nice, I can't wait to do it again next summer.
The best holiday is to not plan anything................
